The Gateway Grille was bought by Sean and Rebecca Wharton in February of 1997. Prior to Sean and Rebecca's purchase, Gateway was operating as a home style food restaurant.

Sean Wharton former Deer Valley Seafood Chef of 14 years, used all of his money to buy the building. Severely under funded, Sean started to cook. With a handful of teenage waiters, waitresses and cooks, the new Gateway Grille began to appear. Although things looked quite the same at an outside glance, people really started to take notice of the food. Newspaper, radio and local word of mouth soon had the place packed. Anyone who has eaten at the Gateway Grille over the years can definitely tell Sean and Rebecca have put all the money back into the business. Gateway has been and still is an evolution in progress.

Never letting go of the fast food roots, Sean and Rebecca have created a very unique restaurant concept of top quality fine dining and family food at a reasonable price. This seems to be proving itself as a good restaurant concept.

Currently operating with three to four times the original number of seats, reservations are still a must on most weekend nights. Hope to see you soon!!!
